August 6, 1996, a mother brought her two-year-old little girl to the Subic Bay Children's Home. Not much is known about the mother except her name. Rachel was malnourished and a very much abused baby . Though she was yet so young, she already had to fight for everything she had. She was the smelliest baby I have ever encountered. She had severe ear infection where the wax would constantly flow from her ears. We would have to put cotton in her ears so it would not run down her face and neck. Constant attention and medication has somewhat stopped it. Please pray that God will completely heal her.
Once being at the children’s home, it took her a while to learn that she no longer lived the same lifestyle. She had people who loved her and took care of her. She had the clothes she needed, and was no longer sleeping among the filth and bugs, but had a roof over her head. Rachel is now seven years old and is the toughest girl of them all.
