Rogelio
"Totoy"
Rogelio has been with the Subic Bay Children's Home since November 7th, 1996. He is the second to the eldest of four children. His parents separated when his mother found out her husband was seeing another women. She then ran off with her boyfriend. When she left, she left the children with their father. The father was now living with his mistress, who also had children of her own. There was no room in this new family for the Rogelio and his sibings. Rogelio and his brothers and sister were being mistreated by his fathers mistress. They were left to sleep outside and find their own food. This was no life for these small children. Rogelio’s grandmother who was a very poor lady took them in. She had no better conditions to offer the Rogelio as well. She lived in a shack with no rooms. They slept on her dirt floor on a mat beside the dogs. When the children were brought to Subic Bay Children’s Home they were covered in sores due to their living conditions. It took a lot of time and care to get them strong and healthy. Their bodies had been completely infested with bugs and their diet didn’t usually consist of more than a little rice.
Rogelio is now in his teens. He is a very good looking boy, and has much concern for others. We pray that the Lord will use his life in a very special way. He has really come a long way from where he began.
