"Mayang"
When Rosemarie was about 6 months old, her Mother left her, her father and three brothers to go live with a boyfriend. The lover of Rosemarie’s father soon moved in with together with her children. The father's lover was a cruel woman who had no affection for Rosemarie and her siblings. She was very cruel to them. Rosemarie’s Grandmother came and took Rosemarie and her siblings away to go live with her. The grandmother lived in a very small house with no rooms and just a dirt floor. Rosemarie slept on a mat on the floor beside the dog. Rosemarie acquired a common disease here in the Philippines called “Galis-Aso” (Dog-Mange). The grandmother was so poor and she was having a real hard time raising her grandchildren and many times they would have to skip a meal. Many a times there was no food much less a chance at education. Knowing all this and having heard about SBCHome, Rosemarie's father took them and brought them here to Subic Bay Children’s Home. Rosemarie was a very scared, and very malnourished baby when she was brought to us.
October 3, 1996 is the day that Rosemarie was given a home and family within SBCHome. Rosemarie has grown into a beautiful, active young lady. She is a great help in caring for the younger girls and she uses her beautiful voice that God has blessed her with in our Church Choir.
