New Kitchen and Dining Hall Project

$80,000 would be way to much if we are talking about renovation and for the building alone. With $ 80,000 we will demolish the entire current kitchen and dig a deep and sturdy foundation to be able to sustain a two story building. The bottom floor will be the dinning and kitchen and the top floor will serve as a family room where we will be able to spend quality time with the children on our family nights, Christmas, thanksgiving etc.. With the $80,000 we will also be able to install the stainless sinks and counter tops, serving station and cooking station.
We have over 60 people to feed each meal in our small kitchen and dining hall. We built the kitchen and dining hall almost 20 years ago out of native material- coconut lumber, bamboo and a grass roof. We have replaced the roof three times. Right now the grass roof is all rotten and leak really bad. Last year we cover the roof with a canvas to keep the rain out. The coconut lumber rafters have been eaten by termites. We have brace the roof up with 2 inch GI pipes. Our dining hall is real crowded during meal time. The children are all praying for a new dining hall and kitchen. It is very difficult for the ladies to cook in our small kitchen
Just recently, we took the children aboard a ship that came into Subic Bay. They sang for the crew. The captain took the children to the dining hall and gave them all ice cream. I was able to take a pictures of their kitchen. Our ladies were all excited to see such a nice kitchen. We are praying that someday the children's home will have such a nice kitchen   |
